INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE
This Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, used, and protected in accordance with applicable laws, in relation to Mini Apps developed on the Speed Platform. Developers must read and understand this policy, as it applies to the collection, processing, and storage of both personal and non-personal data that is handled through the Speed Mini Apps. Developers can create their own separate policies to better describe the ways in which their services are received, processed and data is stored from its users.
This Policy governs the relationship between the Developers and the Users to use the Mini Apps developed by the third parties. It does not regulate the relation between Speed Platform and its users nor does it supersede the Speed Privacy Policy. It is distinct from Speed’s main Privacy Policy, which governs the overall use of the Speed Platform. For more information on Speed’s overall data practices, please refer to the Privacy Policy.
CATEGORY OF INFORMATION COLLECTED
The following information is collected as part of the development, operation and maintenance of Speed Mini Apps:
- Personal Information: Full names; email address, contact number, and other information provided during mini app interaction.
- Financial Information: Transaction history, account balances;
- Technical Information: Region, device type, operating system;
- Data Information: Session count, duration, UUIDs, and in-app communications;
- Device information: Access to storage, biometrics, photo library, and camera (with no media storage or recording).
USE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED:
The data collected by the Speed Mini Apps will be used for the following purposes:
- App Functionality: to enable the mini app’s features and provide services as described to the users.
- Support: After filing the contact form with their data, the user authorizes Speed Mini Apps to use the information to offer any assistance, reply to any requests or queries and to resolve issues related to the mini apps.
- Compliance activities: KYC verification (which may include government-issued ID, address proof, or contact number) is used to fulfil legal obligations and respond to regulatory requests.
- Database management: managing a database of email contacts, phone contacts or other relevant information to communicate with the user and for improving the app, monitoring user experience and optimizing performance.
- Payment Processing: The data helps to facilitate transaction processing and manage payment-related activities through Speed Mini Apps.
DISCLOSURE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED:
Developers may need to share user data with third-party services or service providers for specific functions, such as payment processors, analytics providers, or customer support systems. Applicable data protection regulations and security measures shall be maintained by the Developer while sharing the data with third parties.
Data may be shared to third-parties analytics providers to track app usage, improve services and to understand user behavior. The transactions related to payments are required to be processed via Speed Wallet, and the relevant user transaction data may be shared with Speed for the purpose of transaction processing.
COMPLIANCE AND REGULATIONS
Developers must implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect the data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Here are some major governing regulations for Speed:
- Developers are encouraged to adhere to best practices regarding user data security, including secure login procedures and data encryption.
- Developers should ensure that user data is not stored for longer than necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy. Data should be securely deleted or anonymized when it is no longer needed.
USER RIGHTS
As per the applicable regulations the following major rights are covered for the Users:
- Users have the right to access, update or correct their personal information provided.
- Users can request for the deletion of their personal data if it is no longer required for the purposes for which it was collected. This is subject to the legal and contractual restrictions.
- Users can request a copy of their personal data in a structured manner or commonly used format, to transfer this to another service provider.
- User may request the restriction of processing their personal data if they find it is unlawful to process.
- User can object their data processing for marketing or processing based on legitimate interests.
DATA RETENTION
The data received by Speed Mini Apps shall retain as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy, including to provide our services, complying with regulations, to enforce any agreements or for future references. We periodically review our data to ensure its in line with all the above requirements and if it is no longer necessary, we will take steps to delete or anonymize it.
DEVELOPER’S RESPONSIBILITIES
The developer is responsible for the following:
- Compliance with Laws: Ensuring the data collection, processing and storage complies with applicable data protection laws and regulations, including those related to privacy, security and user consent.
- Transparency: For providing clear, accessible and accurate information to users about how their data is collected, used and shared. The privacy policy shall be shared to the users for their consent on data collection.
- Data Minimization: Developers should only collect data that is necessary to operate the mini app’s features.
- Notification of Breaches: Notify Speed, in case of any data breaches affecting user data in accordance with the data protection laws.
CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
Speed reserves the right to make changes in this privacy policy as and when required. Any changes will be communicated to developers and users. Continued use of the mini apps after modifications to this policy will signify the acceptance of the updated privacy policies.
